Urban Arrow cargo bike with Bosch mid-drive motor — Bikeshop Zeeland

De motor — Bosch Active Line Plus, Performance of Cargo Line

Urban Arrow uses Bosch mid-drive motors exclusively. A mid-drive motor sits at the bottom bracket and gives direct support to your pedalling — it feels natural and is strong enough to carry two children, groceries and a dog in one ride.

Bosch Active Line Plus (50–60 Nm)

Calm, smooth motor. Ideal if you mainly ride in and around the village and don’t encounter many hills or headwinds. Found on the Family Classic and the FamilyNext Essential.

Bosch Performance Line (75 Nm)

More powerful and punchier when pulling away. Great for longer distances, headwinds or a full box. Fitted on the FamilyNext Advanced, the Breeze and the Shorty.

Bosch Cargo Line (85 Nm)

Specially developed for heavy cargo bikes. Lots of torque, even at low speeds. Found on the FamilyNext Pro.

Bosch Cargo Line 100 Nm with ABS

The top model: 100 Nm of torque and ABS braking assistance at the front, for extra grip when braking hard or on wet cobbles. Fitted on the FamilyNext Pro Limited Latte.

Urban Arrow cargo bike with Bosch PowerPack battery — Bikeshop Zeeland

The battery — 400, 545 or 800 Wh

Every Urban Arrow comes with a Bosch PowerPack 400 Wh as standard. Want to ride further without recharging in between? Then you can upgrade:

  • 400 Wh (standard) — approx. 40 to 60 km per charge, depending on load and assistance level.
  • 545 Wh — surcharge €300. Gives you roughly 25% extra range.
  • 800 Wh — surcharge €600. Double the range of the standard battery, great for commuting or longer rides.

The battery sits at the front of the frame, is removable and charges indoors using the supplied Bosch charger.

Urban Arrow FamilyNext Pro with Enviolo AutomatiQ and Gates Belt Drive — Bikeshop Zeeland

The gears — Enviolo manual, AutomatiQ and Belt Drive

Enviolo manual

A stepless hub gear: you turn the shifter and pedalling gets harder or easier — without clicks or fixed gears. Low-maintenance and quiet. Standard on the Family Classic, FamilyNext Essential, FamilyNext Advanced, FamilyNext Pro, Breeze and Shorty.

Enviolo AutomatiQ

Shifts automatically: you set your preferred pedalling cadence and the bike chooses the right gear itself. Only on the FamilyNext Pro Limited Latte.

Chain or Gates Belt Drive?

Most models have an ordinary, robust chain. The FamilyNext Pro Limited Latte runs on a Gates Belt Drive: a toothed belt instead of a chain. It needs no lubrication, stays clean and lasts extremely long.

Urban Arrow FamilyNext frame and cargo box — Bikeshop Zeeland

Frame and box — EPP foam or FamilyNext box

Urban Arrow doesn’t use a heavy wooden box. On the Family Classic, Breeze and Shorty the box is made of EPP foam: lightweight, strong and shock-absorbing. The FamilyNext models have a newly designed box with more legroom for the children and a cleaner design. Both versions are water-repellent and you can simply rinse them off.

Urban Arrow extra bench with three-point seat belts — safe transport for children

Seat belts and safety for the children

As standard there is one bench with three-point seat belts. Want to take two or more children? Then you add an extra bench (sold separately). For babies up to about 9 months there is a Maxi-Cosi adapter; for toddlers a baby seat adapter. At delivery we’ll discuss what makes sense for your family.

Frequently asked questions

How far can I get on one battery charge?

With a 400 Wh battery, on average 40 to 60 km, depending on load, wind and chosen assistance mode. A 800 Wh battery roughly doubles that.

Is a toothed belt (Belt Drive) better than a chain?

A Belt Drive is cleaner, quieter and needs less maintenance than a chain. It does cost more and is only fitted on the Pro Limited Latte. A chain works fine and is easy to replace.

Does an Urban Arrow fit through a normal door or gate?

The Family Classic and FamilyNext are about 70 cm wide and fit through most standard garden gates. The Shorty is a bit more compact and fits through almost any passage.

Can I take a test ride before I decide?

Yes, you can take a test ride with us in Burgh-Haamstede on all models in stock. Just call or email to arrange a time.

Can I have the bike delivered to my home?

Anywhere in Zeeland we deliver it free of charge and explain everything on the spot. Beyond that, we deliver throughout the Netherlands and Belgium by arrangement.
